Fumitoshi
Matsuno
Department of Mechanical Engineering and Science
Kyoto University
Fumitoshi Matsuno was
born in Nagoya, Japan on 26 July 1957. Dr. Matsuno
received the PhD (Dr. Eng.) degree from Osaka University
in1986. In 1986 he joined the Department of Control
Engineering, Osaka University. He became a Lecturer in
1991 and an Associate Professor in 1992, in the
Department of Systems Engineering, Kobe University. In
1996 he joined the Department of Computational
Intelligence and Systems Science,Interdisciplinary
Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Tokyo
Institute of Technology as an Associate Professor. In
2003, he became a Professor in the Department of
Mechanical Engineering and Intelligent Systems,
University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo. Sice 2009,
he has been a Professor in the Department of Mechanical
Engineering and Science, Kyoto University. He holds also
a post of the director of NPO International Rescue
System
Institute (IRS). From 2005 he is a Vice-President of
IRS.
His current research interests lie in robotics, control
of distributed parameter system and nonlinear system,
rescue support system in fire and disaster, and
geographic information system. He has published 100
journal papers, 183 international conference paper
which passed peer reviews, 46 survey articles and 9
books.
